Good afternoon, all!
This past weekend I received some exciting news...my most favorite local band, the Mantras, is opening for Donna Jean's band in a nearby town later this week.
I've pretty much settled on going, I was just wondering if any of you folks have seen her band, and what your thoughts were???
Thanks in advance! _________________ Now is the time of returning

Hey Gratefulgirl77,
My name is dondini aka Dandini, I hope you don't mind me shooting the
****, I almost used a word that would get me in trouble again,I'm glad I didn't say it.( I suffer from writing tourettes, its the written form of verbal
tourettes).
Sorry, you don't know what i'm talking about , unless you read the other threads. And i'm afraid even if you read the other threads, it probably still won't make much sense.
I am "Bi" Polar, not the violent type, more the Kundalini type. I think when a person opens up those channels accidently they are at the mercy
of their random accumulated experiences.
The difference between a CEO type, a dangerous psychotic type, and a Yogi Master is the life experience and training.
The reason Bi - polar is called the CEO disease ( in the West) is because a
statistically biased number of people in that profession is Bi- polar.
They have allot of energy ,don't need too much sleep, are extremely charasmatic, have a petchent for risk taking, can talk an Eskimo into buying a air-conditioner. are relatively more powerful than the average person mentally.
These qualities exit in all three of the humans described above, so why such different manifestations of this energy.
I guess Jerry describes it the best, excuse me I guess Jerry and his co- creator, (you are going to kill me for forgetting your name, but I probably would have missed you if I remembered your name, hopefully we all pick up the slack for each other. You know we can share the woman , we can share the wine, all that Skull and Bones Stuff, are you a yaleie?
With respect and much Love, I really appreciate your gift.
In fact in saying Happy Birthday to mr DG, I said he stands with Mr Quixote
and mr Cervantes in the salutations that were given to them .Of course I stand with those giving the salutations , and I wish to extend from the bottom of our collective hearts, to all of you who heard this broadcast tonight, and where -ever those reverberations travel from you, our salutations go to the collectively collecting Tribe.
I WILL TRY AND FILL THIS AREA LATER
As a retired Dead Head Living on my Social Security, (at the lowest level)
my advise to all you young people , don't go into social work , or anything that might be considered an altruistic job.
You will wake up some morning having spent fifty years of your life
dedicated ,(as John Kennedy said "think not what your country can do for you , but what you can do for your country") well in being inspired by his words I did exactly that. Instead or going to work for goldman sachs when I got out of school. I chose to help my fellow Citizens ( I mean didn't John Mean our fellow Citizens, when he said country.)
Anyway I spent fifty years cleaning the bed pans, I spent 100, 000 hrs
cleaning bed pans, reading, talking, crying, listening, to the mothers and fathers, and maybe grandmothers and grandfathers, of mostly fortune
500 company exc. all of wall street, all the investment banks, all these people who had tons of money, but told their lawyers to lose all the assets of their parents and grandparents, so they could get taxpayers to pay for their moms and dads, to stay in the nursing homes, and intensive units of hospitals. Listened to their heartbreaking stories of how their son and daughters put them there because they could not take time from their
important careers, or life styles to care for them.
I always made sure I convinced them that their sons and daughters, really loved them, so that when they passed after , five ,ten years , even fifteen years, they didn't pass with broken hearts.
I spent fifty years taking car of these people . And now I have to chose
between , eating , getting meds, or paying rent, every month. And I have it easy compared to most of my peers that served with me . Now they are dying of broken hearts, or freezing in the winter, and heat exhaustion
in the summer.
LL THIS SPACE i HAD SHIT WRITTEN AQND I ACCIDENTLY HIT SOMETHING AND LOST IT ALL .DOES WINDOWS HAVE AN AUTOMATIC S
AVE BUTTON YOU CAN OPEN WHEN YOU WANT A DOCCUMENT SECURED?
sorry FOLKS i WILL TRY AGAIN TOMORROW.
SINCE I NEVER HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHERE THE WORDS ARE GOING, OR COMING FROM(KIND OF LIKE A WEEGI BOARD) ITS GONE
HOPEFULLY IT GOT PICKED IN THE ATMOSPHERE AND COMES BACK TOMMOROW
THE REASON I NWAS POSTING WAS BECAUSE IM SURE DONNA JEAN
HAS INTERGALATIC CAPABILITY. AND IF YOU ARE PLAYING TERRESTUAL STUFF,ITS MUCH EASIER TO BE CONSISTANT. WHERE AS INTERGALTIC TRAVEL DEPENDS ON "IT" AND SINCE "IT" IS UNKNOWN, YOU ONLY KNOW"IT" WHEN YOU SEE "IT" AND THATS "IT"
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OCCULT AND THE ESOTERIC IS IN THEIR
INTRISIC NATURE. OCCULT HAS DESIRE, THE ESOTERIC HAS NO DESIRE
THE ALGORYTH IS : D D
O O
O O
ESOTERIC
O O
O O
D D
OCCULT=DESIRE >? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> |

I've seen the Donna Jean Band a few times this year and enjoyed every show. I've always loved the Tricksters, but I think this little getaway has really inspired Jeff and his playing is better than ever, imo. Go see them; you'll definitely have a good time! _________________ Some for reasons great or small

Morning friends, many thanks for your input, and much appreciation Sunflower, for the link!
(D'oh! I didn't even think about searching the good ol lama for them.)
I figured it'd be a win/win kind of show...only problem is, it's a work night and about 2 hours away.
But, tix are only $10 and I know I won't regret going. Maybe I should go ahead and let the boss know that I have "errands to run" Friday morning.
I'll be sure to shake a leg for us all, and let you know how it goes.

And a blast was had by all!
Here's the set list:
2009-11-05 The Pour House, Raleigh, NC
1: New Speedway Boogie, Mississippi Half Step>Crazy Fingers>Midnight Moonlight, It Takes a Lot to Laugh~It Takes a Train to Cry, No Better Way, Eyes of the World>Mission in the Rain
2: China>Rider, Brown Eyed Women, Back Around, Don't Fight It, From the Heart of Me>Help on the Way>Slipknot!>Franklin's Tower
E: 19th Nervous Breakdown
During the show I was trying to keep up with what they played but didn't recognize a few songs: No Better Way, Back Around, and Don't Fight It. A kind taper helped me out by handing me a copy of the band's setlist as I was leaving.
During Half Step, Jeff was just smoking on guitar, and I knew we were all in for a treat! He really has such a nice flow and tone, and I think he definitely channels the Muse. The Crazy Fingers>Midnight Moonlight was very inspired and inspiring. I was actually hoping to hear MM since I knew they'd been playing JGB tunes...but the Crazy Fingers was a total surprise & really lovely!
Right before It Takes a Lot to Laugh, Will McFarlane (awesome guitarist & longtime friend of the band) came onstage to play with them & it was a phenomenal Train! Very soulful.
Eyes was awesome, beautiful guitar solos...ahhhh. Awesome.
Mission was a pleasant surprise, I didn't see it coming at all, and I kinda scared my girlfriend when I realized what it was and hugged her suddenly!
Set 2 started off so strong & sweet with China>Rider, then BE Women, it was so much fun & everyone was smiling and dancing their butts off!
Donna Jean introduced the song Back Around as being freshly written by Jeff & herself, and it was good, had a nice smooth groove to it. I was out smoking during Don't Fight It then came back in for a really pretty From The Heart of Me. Donna Jean really does sound great, she also seemed as happy to see us as we were to see her.
Wow you know that feeling when the first little 'ch-ch-ch-ch' of Help rings out...people went nuts! It was great! The whole trifecta was amazing, reminded me of the '89-'90 versions that were just smoldering but Donna Jean also threw in that little "yeah" right after a verse that was more like earlier versions...oh we were ecstatic!
The encore surprised me...I recognized the song but thought it was the Stones? Did JGB or the boys ever play that? It was so much fun and I am so glad I went. Go see her (again) if you get a chance. _________________ Now is the time of returning
